Project Summary

Services

Coating existing concrete walkways with a durable, anti-slip, waterproof coating

Project duration

2 days

Summary

Following the failure of traditional epoxy flooring methods to meet the clients brief, Econ were tasked with providing an anti-slip, hard wearing and waterproof coating to public high traffic walkways and refuge ramps.  Works were carried out both during normal hours and track possession, but because of our superior curing time (10 seconds), return to service was fast and efficient with virtually no down time.  Substrate preparation was fast and we were ready to coat within a day.  The specified thickness was 4mm, which traditionally would be incredibly hard to achieve using hand applied/roll on products – but as our solution is spray applied using the latest in Graco technology, we achieved DFT quickly and accurately.

All finishes are tested to the required British Standard for Anti-Slip and LRV and are given a 30-year manufacturer’s warranty for peace of mind.

Staffing requirements

Working in a railway environment requires a high degree of health and safety knowledge and expertise and the use of suitably qualified and accredited personnel to carry out the works. Econ’s team included staff who met the following requirements: Network Rail PTS - Sentinel
